Their return to the festival stage is eagerly awaited by the faithful of man.

Dead Sara

LA rockers Dead Sara our choice of sleep on the weekend sets. The alt-rock band’s heavy conc -tion will come to life in live format, reinforced by the dynamic voice of frontwoman Emily Armstrong and the numerous riffs by guitarist Siouxsie Medley. Dead Sara started the scene in 2012 with the blazing song “Weatherman”, which got a lot of buzz for their loud performances. Afterwards the band released the sad “Hand” single last year, we wanted to hear what else they were doing when they entered the Rockville stage.

Code Orange

The release of Code Orangelatest album, At the bottom, showed that the situation was not good – it came as soon as the pandemic erupted on March 13 last year. But the Pittsburgh band swapped like real professionals, immediately hosting a first major virtual concert event as they streamed their released “party” on the album from an empty theater. Since then, Code Orange has maintained a quasi digital presence on Twitch and through well -done livestream events. After seeing the band through a screen for more than a year, seeing (and hearing) Code Orange live can be revealing.

Hilanat 333

Sociopolitical rockers Hilanat 333 one of today’s strongest live bands, with singer Jason Aalon Butler having no power when he started on stage. The band stole the show from Sonic Temple Festival in 2019, with Butler entering into the standings and striking most with an anxiety. Combining hip-hop infused hardcore verses and nu-metal choruses with meaningful lyrics, Fever 333 is one of the best of the newcomers to Rockville 2021.

Mastodon

Titanium metals in Georgia Mastodonnew album is expected planned for an autumn release – during their show in Rockville in November. That means new songs from the recognized quartet. Thankfully the band was good at offering a track of the powerful crumbs that guided the release of the LP in the form of a series of solo songs and soundtrack songs. Maybe some of those will make the setlist as well.

friend the devil

Need to take a break from the hard-hitting moves that make up most of the Rockville bill? After settling on something more intimate and story -based friend the devil. The Austin troublesadour revolves around captivating, always macabre stories about the beat and broken, motives that have earned him the favor of the metal community. We used to choose the singer of the song as us Artist of the Moon In April, so his Rockville set was with our highest recommendation.

Social Differences

Punk rock luminaries Social Differences thanks for staying in the Rockville lineup after the initial delay. The band’s signature So Cal sound has always been imitated but never duplicated. After a lengthy lockdown, just a photo of legendary frontman Mike Ness yelling to “get this ball and chain” from a festival stage in a post-pandemic world is enough to scare the spine. . It’s there.

Deftones

Deftones patiently waiting to play live since the pandemic stopped their concert activity. The Rockville stage was like the perfect place to feel the band’s powerful album Ohms if you can’t get theirs summer tour with Gojira. It’s a very special effort in 2020, and we expect the setlist to focus on the new LP, while there will be favorites from the entire career of alt-metal heroes.

Nine Inch Nails

Fresh from an induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2020, Trent Reznor is right back to work in a new Nine Inch Nails albums after winning an Oscar with fellow NIN member Atticus Ross for Best Original Score (loose) early this year. Hopefully this means that industrial stories will give us a lot of new music along with their classical material. Either way, expect a visceral, visually captivating performance from Reznor and company, who always bring their A-game to their live show.

Metallica

Metallica headed to Welcome to Rockville by producing two unique sets on two different nights. Because of this you have no excuse for losing thrash legends. For diehard Metallica fans attending the same sets, it means even deeper cuts and hits from the band’s entire career.
