18-year-old Admits to Killing Pop Smoke


An 18-year-old was charged with the death of Pop Smoke admitted to killing the rapper during a home invasion on February 19, 2020, as the Los Angeles Times reports. He further admitted to other charges of house robbery; his name is being withheld from the media because he was 15 at the time of the break-in. He was charged in juvenile court, and may remain in prison until he is 25 years old.

Earlier this year, a 20-year-old accused in the same case pleaded guilty of voluntary manslaughter. He was 17 at the time of the shooting, and was also charged as a juvenile. Five people were arrested in July 2020, nearly five months after they entered the Los Angeles Airbnb where Pop Smoke was temporarily staying. The two guys are still facing each other, Keandre Rodgers and Corey Walker murder case in the case, and could face the death penalty if convicted. Another person was arrested but not ultimately charged in connection with the home invasion.
