James Gunn revealed more information about the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3by Adam Warlock, played by Will Poulter.
The director said Empire about Warlock’s role in the upcoming Marvel Studios sequel and where he stands in relation to Guardians of the Galaxy.

What we see is the infant form of the Warlock, who has just emerged from the cocoon, and he doesn’t quite understand life. He’s still young.”
Gunn then spoke about what he was looking for while casting Warlock and the character’s potential importance in the MCU.
“People online are saying, ‘Oh, Tom Cruise should be Adam Warlock,'” Gunn said. “I want someone young, and I want someone with dramatic chops and comedic chops, not only for this movie but for what Marvel will use Adam Warlock in the future…
