Aldous Harding’s “Lawn”: Stream

Aldous Harding there is a new album on the way. The New Zealand musician’s fourth studio album, Warm Chris, for from March 25 on 4AD, and the lead single “Lawn” is already on stream now.

Hot Chris following Harding’s 2019 album designer, and, as it followed, was performed by an English musician John Parish. Harding mentioned making the record in a statement. “It was recorded in my favorite place on earth – Rockfield Studios with John Parish, H. Hawkline, Steve Rockford, and engineer Joe Jones,” he said. “As I listened, it seemed like something new was happening to my voice. The vocals are minimal. I won’t try to talk about the sound, because here it is, and I don’t want to ruin or create a surprise. It reminds me personally/music of a big horse trying to keep up with a train. ”

The first single “Lawn” previews Harding’s amazing new voice very well. He was close to Björk’s territory with his high voice, like a child’s delivery, laid out by a jazzy, repetitive line on the piano. The black-and-white music video on the single is equally bizarre; Harding wears a variety of clip hats, from Twiggy-esque eye makeup to lizard prosthetics. He mentioned the visual in a statement.

“This video is pretty luxurious for me, but that’s what I saw when I closed my eyes and said‘ Show me, ’that thing,” Harding said. “So that’s what we did. Turns out this is just the thing. The music is beautiful that way. The video was directed by Martin Sagadin and myself. Hot Chris is like everyone else, more of a name than a story. Like Sarah or Ralph, it has that name because that’s what I wanted to call it for the rest of its life – a proper name.

Hot Chris available on digital and on CD and standard black vinyl. Pre-orders are available HERE. To celebrate the record, Harding will embark on an extensive world tour. The folk singer will travel to Europe from March to April, then hit North America from June to July. See the full list of tour dates below, and get tickets Ticketmaster.
