Alfred Molina ‘Troubled’ About Spider-Man: No Way Home Leak

Before the Spider-Man: There’s No Home was released, star Alfred Molina casually let it be known that he would return to the world of Spider-Man as Doc Ock. According to Molina, that move caused him a ton of problems from behind the scenes.

In a recent interview with Radio Time, Molina was asked again if he would return for the upcoming Spider-Man film. This time, however, Molina jokingly said that his new response is to neither confirm nor deny anything.

“I can neither confirm nor deny,” said Molina. “That’s the official line. I got in trouble last time around because I was innocent of letting the cat out of the bag.”

Molina talked about the moment, which happened in April 2021, Molina was seen revealing that he was filming No Home as his iconic character Doc Ock. That was news to everyone and resulted in fans celebrating his return, while those at Marvel Studios were not happy to see the news leaked.

“Just by accident, I was talking to a journalist who said, ‘So, you know, how Spider-Man going to the movies?’ And I went, ‘Oh, good. Thank you.’ Then literally the next day, Variety was like, ‘Alfred Molina reveals Doc Ock is back.’ And I got into trouble,” said Molina. “I got phone calls from Amy Pascal, Kevin Feige was on a red carpet somewhere and somebody asked him about a Marvel movie and apparently he got a little snippy and turned around and said, ‘Ask Alfred Molina.’ So I put a little hot water in. That’s the official line — I can’t confirm or deny.”

While Molina’s response may not make fans want him back, it seems the actor has learned from his previous slip-up, and won’t be commenting on any future MCU projects anytime soon. .
