The hardest thing Ally Brooke have to deal with Dancing With The Stars has nothing to do with learning Paso Doble or mastering the waltz.
the Fifth Harmony the singer sat down with his ex DWTS company Sasha Farber for the June 2 episode of his YouTube series, The Ally Brooke Show. And the two, who competed as partners on the hit show in 2019, talked about their experience being hit at a time when he and Dawson’s Creek alum James Van Der Beek (whose dancing partner is Sasha’s wife, Emma Slater) faced the bottom two during the semifinals.
“She almost never danced in the semifinals because of a family issue,” Sasha recalls. “It’s just hard. It’s hard to process because we’re the bottom two and we can and they don’t. I remember at one point [Ally] like, ‘No, no, no, I want to give my position to James.’ And I was like standing there. My wife is crying, James is crying, you are crying. I cried… You know, it’s crazy. It’s just a TV show, it’s just a dance of dances, but people are fixing such strong bonds. “
