Apple TV+ Gets Vince Gilligan’s Next Series With Rhea Seehorn

More than a month later Better Call Saul ended its six-season run, award-winning creator Vince Gilligan has found his next major TV project. This project will reunite him with Emmy nominee Rhea Seehorn, who is currently attached for the lead role. The deadline brings word that Apple TV+ has officially given a two-season straight-to-series order to Gilligan’s untitled series, described as a “blended, grounded genre drama.”

“After fifteen years, I thought it was time to take a break from writing antiheroes … and who better to be a hero than the brilliant Rhea Seehorn? It’s long past time she had her own show, and I feel lucky to get to work on it with her,” said Gilligan in a statement. “And what a wonderful symmetry to be reunited with Zack Van Amburg, Jamie Erlicht, and Chris Parnell! Jamie and Zack were the first two people to say yes Breaking Bad all those years ago. They’ve built a great team at Apple, and my wonderful, long-time partners at Sony Pictures Television and I look forward to doing business with them.

According to the outlet’s sources, several networks and streamers are competing for Gilligan’s coveted project, which will reportedly cost around $13.5M-$15M per episode. However, Apple TV + is the winner because of their “huge enthusiasm” for the series from the beginning. More details about the project’s plot and characters are still being kept under wraps, but it is reported to be similar to The Twilight Zone.
