Aubrey Plaza, Amy Poehler Reprise Parks & Recs Characters

Fans of Parks and Recreation enjoyed a mini reunion in the latest episode of Saturday Night Live. Episode host Aubrey Plaza She reprized her character April Ludgate during Weekend Update to discuss how young people can get involved in local government. After listing several jobs that required little effort (bus driver, working in a water department, dog catcher), Ludgate in the Plaza gave way to a true civil servant, “his old man boss” Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler).

Like Knope, Poehler relies on jokes SNL and Weekend update — which he anchored for five seasons between 2004 and 2008. “I want to pick your brain about this job, about this show because I used to watch it when it was done by Seth Meyers himself like no one else and he did it. it looks so easy,” Poehler told current Weekend Update anchor Colin Jost. Later in the segment, Poehler’s Knope gets a chance to tell a joke.

Poehler also appeared during the Plaza’s SNL monologue. square, former NBC page, gave viewers a behind-the-scenes tour of his old stomping grounds when he ran into Poehler. “Aubrey, I see you’re wearing your page jacket,” Poehler said. “Are you drinking again?”

Another famous public servant also appeared during Plaza’s monologue — President Joe Biden congratulated Plaza on being elected the most famous person from Delaware.
