BEYONCE took the stage at the Dubai luxury hotel Atlantis the Royal this weekend, performing a private concert to open the resort. This marks Queen Bey’s first full-length performance since headlining Coachella in 2018.
The 17-song set is primarily comprised of classic hits, such as “XO,” “Halo,” “Freedom,” “Crazy in Love,” and “Countdown.” Despite the drop Renaissance, one of the best albums of 2022, he did not perform a single song from the record. Instead, he performed several songs from his soundtrack The Lion King: The Gift live for the first time, including an on-stage duet of “Brown Skin Girl” with his daughter, Blue Ivy. The concert ended with Beyoncé singing “Drunk in Love” as a platform lifted her to the top of the stage. Check out videos of the performance and the setlist below.
Beyoncé invited influencers to a showcase in Dubai last week, promises “Epicurean feasts, beachside indulgences, and special unveiling experiences including business class airfare, first-class ground transportation, and first-class accommodations on Atlantis the Royal” along with a “once-in-a-lifetime show .” It is reported that he paid $24 million for performance.
The move to perform in Dubai drew some criticism from fans due to the city’s ban on homosexuality. According to Constitution of the United Arab Emiratesbeing gay is punishable by death.
Beyoncé is widely expected to announce a tour in support of Renaissancebut details are yet to come.
