The Bossa Nova Civic Club, a Brooklyn hub for dance and electronic music, has announced that it will close indefinitely after a fire on the third floor of the building that houses the area. Although the fire did not affect the first floor space, efforts to extinguish the fire resulted in extensive water damage. “It is safe to say that we have been closed for a remarkable length of time. We will update soon,” the club wrote in an Instagram story.
as Resident Advisor notes, the fire was reported on Wednesday (Jan. 12) around 9 p.m. citizens. According to reports, one tenant was seriously injured, and another of a tenant’s dog died in the fire. Friends of the Bossa Nova Civic Club have already started a GoFundMe to support the establishment and its current staff.
