Whoopi Goldberg defended the 1974 satire Flaming Saddles on the December 7 episode of The View, push back against critics who claim it won’t be done by 2022.

“Flaming Saddles, because it’s a good joke, will still go on today,” he said. “There are always bad jokes, okay? Let’s just say that. That’s not one of them. Flaming Saddles is one of the biggest because it hits everyone.

To future viewers, Goldberg said, “If you haven’t seen it Flaming Saddles, you should do yourself a favor, get some popcorn, get a glass of wine, and wear it, because it’s so beautiful.” And to the film’s critics, he joked, “Leave my Flaming Saddles alone. Don’t make me go for you!”
Goldberg is not afraid to cross the line of good taste. Earlier this year, her granddaughter revealed that the nickname Whoopi came from a foul-mouthed comedy routine that ended with a fart contest with Robin Williams and Billy Crystal.
