The road to The Chainsmokers‘fourth album, TCS4, officially launched after the duo announced a release date for a new single called “High.”
Chainsmokers Drew Taggart and Alex Pall wowed fans this week by teaching doppelgängers to promote the new music, sharing a series of tongue-in-cheek videos of their TikTok. The lookalikes — one of them is actor Ryan O’Flanagan, who appears in New Woman and American Vandal—Even showing up on stage at a recent show in Las Vegas to troll people:
“High” is set to drop tomorrow, January 13, and is the first new music from The Chainsmokers since 2019’s Joy of World War album. See a snippet, which says “the next chapter has arrived,” below.
Chainsmokers stopped social media in February 2020, when they told fans they were taking the time to develop their “next chapter of music.”
“We haven’t been more motivated and it’s been harder to work TCS4 but we will take a break from social media (minus some obligations) to give it the attention it needs, ”they said at the time.
They are now in full album mode after a video shared by TikTok on January 10 with the caption, “It’s almost time #TCS4.” They have not yet announced the release date of the album.
