Chat Pile Share Song From New Brothers in Christ EP: Listen

Oklahoma City Chat Pile announced a new split EP in Kansas City Nerves. Called a four-song release Brothers and sisters in Christand it comes out on April 14 (via Reptilian/The Spirit is Clear). The first offering from the EP is Chat Pile by “CUT OFF,” which vocalist Raygun Busch said was inspired by Stephen King. Listen to it below.

“‘Cut’ is a tribute to King’s short fiction,” explains Busch, “especially ‘The Man Who Loved Flowers,’ ‘Strawberry Spring,’ and ‘The Jaunt.’

Chat Pile bassist Stin added, “These tracks were written and recorded after we tracked God’s country.” He continued, “We wanted to use this release as a deliberate excuse to shift gears and fully lean into our more indie and alt-rock leanings. Slint, Sonic Youth, Guided by Voices, and Starfish’s Stellar Sonic Solutions It was definitely on our minds at the time.”
