Liam—who is married Kristi Hendriks in 2013—continued, “Hearing the word ‘cancer’ came as a shock to my wife and me, as it does to millions of families every year. However, I am determined to accept the fight and overcome this new challenge with the same determination I used to face other obstacles in my life.”

the MLB star continued to note that he began treatment immediately and “is confident that I will make a full recovery and return to the mound as soon as possible.”

He added, “I know that with the support of my wife, my family, my teammates and the Chicago White Sox organization, along with treatment and care from my doctors, I will get through this.”
