The track marks the first look at Corkal’s upcoming “PINK CLOUD” EP.

As he prepares for his upcoming debut EP, new Vancouver-based artist Chris Corkal has released a new track, “Easy To Love.”

This is the first single released from the EP,PINK CLOUD, which will pay homage to those “on a pink cloud,” signifying a stage of early addiction recovery. Opening with melodic keys and soft, sensual lyricism, “Easy To Love” slowly pulls us in.

What was once a mellow soundscape quickly picked up the pace at a fast pace. Around the halfway point, “Easy To Love” takes a deep dive as a riveting liquid drum and bass beat enters us. Listen below and stream the track HERE.

The new tune speaks to the ease of surrendering parts of yourself to a relationship when it’s new and exciting. However, the rush wears off with time, and that’s when relationships are put to the ultimate test.

“Things are easy to love,” Corkal explained. “And that translates easily to people, or your partner, or friends, but it’s also easy to love things that aren’t good for us.”

According to Corkal, the track has two meanings. A more obvious connection is being in a relationship with someone who may or may not be easy to love.

“Building represents the journey and amazing experience of falling in love when life is going well for you and your loved ones, and falling is the feeling when you wake up and realize that things aren’t working out when how did you first think they could. ,” he said nonchalantly.

The second is a relationship that a person can have with substance.

“The construction of ‘Easy To Love’ also represents how drug use can be romanticized and help you escape reality…shining a light of truth against fantasy,” Corkal continued. “The drop represents the impact and shock of reality that hits you when you lose control and it seems too late to turn back.”

Corkal dedicated his future PINK CLOUD EP by his late brother, Richard, who lost his battle with substance addiction. At this time, the release date has not yet been announced.
