Andy Cohen learned his lesson.
While hosting CNN’s New Year’s Eve countdown with Anderson Cooper, Cohen says he’s “a hair over-served,” he wrote on Instagram after the show, which is why he took a jab at ABC’s Rockin ‘New Year’s Eve—And by extension, its host, Ryan Seacrest.
Cohen immediately revealed to SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live that he regrets that.
“The only thing I’m guilty of saying, the only thing is that I criticized the ABC broadcast and I really liked it. Ryan Seacrest and he’s a good man, “Cohen said.” And I’m really sorry to say that, and I’m stupid and drunk and feel it. “
Now his CNN employer weighs in and stands next to Cohen. Contrary to some reports, Cohen was not fired from hosting the gig because of any of his comments. (He also spoke about the York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg).
In a statement to E! News, CNN said, “Andy said something he didn’t need on live tv. We answered it with him and expect him to come back again next year.”
