British comedian Andy Smart died on May 16, his daughter Grace announced on Twitter. He is 63 years old.
“Hi this is Grace, Andy’s daughter, I’m so sorry to inform all of you about that dad died unexpected last night,” he wrote on a May 17 tweet. “He had so many friends and a wonderful life. Raise a glass to him. G x.”
The cause of Smart’s death has not been disclosed. Oh! News reached out to his representative for more information but has not heard back.
The news comes days after Smart performed at The Comedy Store in London on May 14. The comic—who is a member of the improv group The Comedy Store Players—is scheduled to take the stage again on May 28. After learning of his passing , the venue mourns the sudden loss.
