The House Oversight and Reform Committee launches an investigation into Live Nation at the 2021 Astroworld Festival, The Washington Post and The Associated Press report. on a letter to Michael Rapino (president and CEO of Live Nation Entertainment, Inc.), members of the Congressional committee wrote:
The committee asked Rapino and Live Nation for details of the company’s role in security, people control, and festival safety, details on security planning before the show, the “exact timing of Live Nation Entertainment first knowing the casualties on the night of Nov. 5, and what steps were taken in response to that information, ”measures to prevent future injury or death at Live Nation events, etc. The committee set a Jan. 7 date for Live Nation to provide information.
Ten people killed during the crowd surge that occurred during Travis ScottThe headlining show at Astroworld. Scott has SAYS he didn’t realize that people were being killed while he was performing. Scott, Live Nation, and other entities are facing multiple cases from Astroworld attendees.
