Thomas Bangalter (previously on Daft Punk) shared the first preview of Mythologies, the orchestral work he wrote for the 2022 ballet of the same name. It’s titled “L’Accouchement,” and it’s one of 23 pieces of Mythologies. Listen to it below.
Bangalter last released a solo album in 2003 with anger. He announced that he wrote the score for Mythologies ballet in 2021, just months after he and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo announced that Daft Punk done for good. Mythologies will arrive in full on April 7.
Angelin Preljocaj, the founder of Ballet Preljocaj, choreographed the ballet and commissioned Bangalter’s 90-minute score; the Orchester National Bordeaux Aquitaine performed and recorded it under the musical direction of Romain Dumas. The ballet premiered last year at the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux in Bordeaux, France.
