Dan Stevens has teamed up again with Adam Wingard for Godzilla vs. Kong Sequel

According to The deadline, Legion Star Dan Stevens has officially signed for a lead role in the upcoming sequel to Legendary in 2021’s Godzilla vs. Kong, which is expected to start its production this summer in Australia.

The untitled high-profile project marks the reunion between Stevens and director Adam Wingard after they previously collaborated on The Guest. His casting also came after Wingard recently cast a potential sequel in the 2014 thriller film, after a good fan response to his April Fools ’Day prank.

The upcoming fifth installment of the blockbuster franchise will provide a $ 79.2 million economic boost to Queensland as well as create 505 jobs for the local cast and crew and opportunities for 750 extras.

Further details about the project are still withheld, but initial reports last year suggested it could be headlined Kong’s son. It is unclear whether Adam Wingard will return as its director or not. The project will be done again by Eric McLeod.

The 2021 film was directed by Wingard from a screenplay written by Eric Pearson and Max Borenstein. It stars Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, and more. Despite its simultaneous theatrical and HBO Max debut, it still went on to garner a gross of over $ 460 million at the worldwide box office.
