Recently released Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness there were various cameos, including the introduction of The Illuminati, a group with a long history in the world of Marvel Comics, but less so in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In the film, after Strange arrives in the alternative universe and is captured by Mordo in the universe, he is taken to The Illuminati, a group consisting of Mordo, Captain Marvel (played by Lashana Lynch), Captain Carter (played by Haley Atwell), Black Bolt, Professor X (played by Patrick Stewart), and perhaps the group’s biggest cameo, Reed Richards, is also known as Mister Fantastic in Fantastic Four, played by John Krasinski.
While the inclusion of Krasinski – one that fans hope will play the official Reed Richards in the future Fantastic Four movie – too big, according to Justin Kroll in Deadline, he’s not always set to play the character in Doctor Strange link. In a series of tweets on the film, Kroll revealed that Daniel Craig was actually Reed Richards ’first choice to play, but the withdrawal ended due to the fact that at the time of filming, the cases of COVID rose again in London and Craig didn’t think it was worth the risk for a quick shoot.
Interesting fact, Krasinski was not the first choice, the actor originally set to play the role was ready to shoot but when there was an increase in COVID cases, he backed out because he lived in London and did not think too quickly.
