Dave Gahan of Depech Mode and Soulsavers to Cover Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Addition to New Album Imposter

“When I listen to other people’s voices and songs – especially when they sing them and interpret the words – I feel at home,” Gahan said in a statement. “I know it. It comforts me more than anything. No one has performed on the record that I haven’t been touched by.… I know we’re doing something special, and I expect to feel it in other people and take them on a little class trip – especially people who have loved music for many years. ”

Unlike their previous collaborations, which were mostly remote, Imposter recorded live at Shiburi-La Recording Studio in Malibu with a full band. “This is the first time we’ve all been in one space,” Gahan added. “It’s kind of lucky [timing] as well. Coming to Shangri-La every day, it’s embarrassing. We have coffee, come in, and work. ”
