PS5-exclusive Death Stranding Director’s Cut may get a PC release following an unconfirmed press release that appears to have leaked online.
Kojima Productions’ Cut by the Director of Death Stranding reportedly coming to PC according to a leaked press release. Cut by the Director of Death Stranding released on PS5 in 2021, making for a more definitive edition of the original 2019 game. the Cut by the Director adds new content, missions, and features including haptic feedback to Sony’s latest console.
Death Stranding is the latest release from popular video game developer Hideo Kojima, and stars Norman Reedus in The Walking Dead as protagonist Sam Bridges. Despite somewhat mixed reception from fans in 2019, the title has earned itself a dedicated following, and the Cut by the Director that edition of the game was highly praised by many. Speculation of a potential sequel has been on the rise for some time, due in part to a photo from Kojima that many believe Reedus appeared on set with the director. Reedus himself had stated before Death Stranding 2 is in the works, but Kojima, Sony, and Kojima Productions have not yet formally announced anything.
As seen by WccFTech, VideoCardz reported that Cut by the Director of Death Stranding The PC is on its way, citing an unnamed source who allegedly provided the publication of a press release on the game. According to the leak, Cut by the Director of Death Stranding for PC is the first title to support AI-based upscaling technology from Intel’s XeSS, which “improving player experiences. “505 Game, publisher of Death Stranding on the PC, mentioned in the leak, with president Neil Rally reportedly stating the following:
“We’re excited to announce our partnership with Intel for Death Stranding Director’s Cut for the PC edition. Death Stranding is a very popular game among PC gamers and we’re excited to see how the new technology works. Intel XeSS can enhance player experiences for Director’s Cut. “
The alleged release of Cut by the Director of Death Stranding on the PC probably a hit with those who can’t get a PS5 console. The title is currently only available on the Sony platform, which means PC gamers will have a regular edition of the game, with some PC improvements and newer ones. Cut by the Director of Death Stranding on the PS5 adds a new Very Hard mode, a firing range, racing, an expanded storyline, and more, all likely to be available in the PC version.
