What happened in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows?

Earlier on Wednesday, it was discovered that the hack and slash game reappeared on Steam’s store available for purchase for $14.99. Less than an hour later, however, the game was delisted again. It is no longer purchasable, just like the game Steam page that option no longer exists.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows was first released in 2013 by developer Red Fly Studio and Activision. The game features a four-player online mode and offline two-player co-op, and sees players take control of the iconic group of turtles as they try to stop various villains from the show, which include of the Foot Clan, the Purple Dragons, Baxter Stockman, and Kraang.

On January 4, 2017, the game was officially removed from platforms following Activision’s hold on the TMNT license. Activision originally held the TMNT license starting in 2012 and released five games based on the franchise between 2013 and 2016.

If Activision plans to return to the Turtles game, there’s no better time — the Seth Rogen– written reboot, Mutant chaos, hits theaters this August. There is also a dark TMNT game inspired by the recent God of War games on developmnet.
