Recalling it as a “difficult” breakup, Denise told the host Caroline Stanbury that there were “many things” that led to the demise of their marriage.
“Things behind the scenes are worse than what’s out there,” he explained, adding that although they always put on a united front in public, they were never happy at home. “Too bad.”
Finally, Denise walks away from Charlie—who is with the kids Sami18, and grandmother17—after asking himself: “Do I want my daughters to marry this man?”
“No offense to him, but I think he’ll take that and understand what I’m saying,” he continued. “It’s very poisonous.”
