Donald Glover dismisses the idea that Atlanta isn’t “Black Black”


Donald Glover criticism is blocked.

Over the years, the Atlanta the creator has been repeatedly criticized for his description of the Black community and Black women on FX consecutively, with people saying he wasn’t Black enough to understand these struggles. But for Donald, it’s not as simple as people make it out to be.

As he explained at the time Atlanta‘s panel during the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour, people can say all they want about him, but at the end of the day, they don’t know what he’s been through. “I don’t think they give a lot of credit to what we’ve been through,” he said, according to The deadline. “To be like, ‘Oh, these Black people hate Black people or these Black people hate Black women.’ I’m like, it’s a little glimpse of who we are.”

Donald suggested that many of the attacks come from creators of Black content online, saying, “Some to me are just people on the Internet trying to be hot, which is also something we’ve learned the system we’re in.”
