Dua Lipa shared “Dance the Night,” his new song from the soundtrack of Greta Gerwigof Barbie. Listen to it below.
As you might expect, “Dance in the Night” is a sparkling disco number. “I stay on the beat, you can trust me/ I don’t miss any steps,” sings the artist, as classic strings and funky bass soar. The track clocks in as an instrumental from the film newly released trailer, so you know it’s going to play a big part in the summer movie. Even its music video fits right into Barbie World, with Lipa dancing on top of fur high heels and Gerwig herself making a cameo at the end.
Dua Lipa joins the likes of Lizzo, HAIM, Charli XCX, and Tame Impala to perform at Barbie soundtrack, which drops on July 21, the same day as the movie. Gosling will also sing a song aptly called “I’m Just Ken” for the project, though, sadly, it probably won’t be a Dead Man’s Things reunion.
Recently, Lipa turned his head in a Chanel gown during the Karl Lagerfeld-themed Met Gala. He also co-wrote the song “boundary” with Tove Lo, which was released earlier this year.
