Fast-Tracked M3GAN Sequel Can Protect Us From Feeling Lonely

If the investors in Jurassic Park never thought that dinosaurs always kill people, then the manufacturers of M3GAN can be as fun as dense. According to The Hollywood Reportera sequel to the killer horror movie — aptly titled, M3GAN 2.0 – will be in theaters on January 17, 2025.

M3GAN, aka the Model 3 Generative Android, reached $30 million at the box office in its opening weekend and has grossed nearly $100 million to date. Those are the kind of numbers that would impress almost anyone but James Cameron, let alone a movie with a $12 million budget.

M3GAN starring Allison Williams as the human protagonist, with the team of Amie Donald and Jenna Davis as the titular villain. It is directed by Gerard Johnston and boasts a script by Akela Cooper and horror auteur James Wan, who is also producing. “M3GAN plays on so many different levels: Scary, terrifying, touching and emotional at the same time,” said Wan. “We wanted to lean into something more technology-driven as opposed to supernatural.”

Williams and co-star Violet McGraw will reprise their roles M3GAN 2.0. Screenwriter Akela Cooper, who wrote the original, is also set to return.

Instead of over-pontificating these real fears, we have M3GAN gently playing an Eminem song on a piano. We’re in her breakdance in the hallway as she chases the blood of mortals. Our dreams will forever be haunted by a girl doll with perfect eyeliner and eyes of Disney Princess, as if she were listening to She & Him.
