The Duffers take Finn to their version of the principal’s office—we believe it looks like the Upside Down—to ask their young actor.
“They pulled me over and they were like, ‘That’s the idea. Who told you?,'” Finn revealed. “I was like, ‘There isn’t one.’ They were like, ‘What do you mean, you just thought?’ I was like, ‘Well, no, I just thought that would be a cool way to expand.'”
In the end, the Duffers couldn’t help but admire his creative simpatico, urging him, “Well, don’t tell anyone!”
While the details of the spinoff remain, obviously, under strict lock and key, the Duffers have dropping a few little hints along the way. For one thing, it is not about any existing characters from Stranger Things universe.
“That’s not interesting to me because we’ve done everything,” the Duffer Brothers said to Happy Sad Confused podcast last July. “We spent I don’t know how much time exploring all of that. So it’s very different.”
