Apple TV+ dropped the Foundation Season 2 teaser trailer for future return in the sci-fi drama, which is set to premiere on July 14. The video tells of the upcoming uprising against the Cleons’ Galactic Empire as King Seldon continues his efforts to try to save humanity.

What to Expect in Foundation Season 2?

“More than a century after the season one finale, tensions rise across the galaxy in Foundation season two,” reads the synopsis. “As the Cleons disintegrate, a vengeful queen plots to destroy the Empire from within. Hari, Gaal, and Salvor discover a colony of Mentalics with psionic abilities that threaten to alter psychohistory itself. The Foundation entered its religious phase, proclaiming the Church of Seldon throughout the Outer Reach and inciting the Second Crisis: war with the Empire.

Apple TV+’s Foundation comes from creator and executive producer David S. Goyer, who also serves as showrunner. It tells the stories of four pivotal individuals who transcend space and time as they overcome deadly crises, shifting loyalties, and complex relationships that will ultimately determine the fate of humanity.

The series stars Jared Harris as King Seldon and Lee Pace as Brother Day with Lou Llobell as Gaal Dornick, Leah Harvey as Salvor Hardin, Laura Birn as Demerzel, Terrence Mann as Brother Dusk, Cassian Bilton as Brother Dawn, and Alfred Enoch as Raych. Join them in Season 2 they are Holt McCallany, Ben Daniels, Rachel House, Isabella Laughland, Mikael Persbrandt, Kulvinder Ghir, Sandra Yi Sencindiver, Ella-Rae Smith, Dimitri Leonidas, and Nimrat Kaur.

The Foundation is executive produced by Robyn Asimov, Josh Friedman, Cameron Welsh, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Bill Bost. It is a co-production between Apple Studios and Skydance Television.
