People who might be hoping for a reunion of the live-action cast of 2002 Scooby-Doo May be in for a disappointment, because the star Freddie Prinze Jr. says he has no intention of returning to the series.

In an interview with TooFab, Prinze was asked if he would return to play Fred Jones in the third film, which fans have been asking for. The actor is quick to say no, however, as he has “zero interest” after what he calls some issues in his past experiences in films.

“It’s not something I would do,” Prinze said. “I have no interest. I mean, it was hard. It’s not for me, man. There was so much bait-and-switch at first – the studio wasn’t honest with me in any way, shape, or form, I worked on two jobs where I regretted doing it and one was Scooby. “

Although it is unclear what exactly Prinze Jr. went through. while playing Fred Jones, he spoke briefly about his issues with his role in the films. In a separate interview with Esquire, Prinze revealed that he was asked to take a salary for the second film, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashedand it was also quoted that the final version of the film was not like the script he had signed.

“If I lie, you are dead to me, I don’t trust you anymore. I’m telling you, ever again,” Prinze said, before adding that if a third film were to be made, it would still involve the same people from the first two, which the actor said was “not even what business do i want to be involved.”
