“I feel like people expect me to be the same – well, you have to hate him and you never talk to him again,” Butler continued. “But the thing is, I can’t. Like, I can’t and I won’t. I can’t turn my back on him. Because he’s there for me when I need him.”
Even though it’s been several months since Butler filmed his confessional, he told E! News, “I still stand firm on what I said.”
“Do I consent to any of the allegations?” he explained. “Not really. But at the end of the day, I know Jerry you know all from the first time … If I have a bad day, he’s there lifting me up; when I have something, he makes me smile. “
Butler admitted that people might be upset with his response but hoped they would “understand” that he didn’t see his part.
