Glasser Announces First Album in 10 Years, Shares New Song “Vine”: Listen

Glasser informed Crux, his first new album in 10 years. It will be out on October 6 via A Little Independent. The new album follows 2013’s Contents and the 2018 mix sextape. “I wanted to make something where all the parts seemed very separate,” Glasser’s Cameron Mesirow said in a statement. “I think like jazz, actually. It’s about getting back to writing music after feeling a little disconnected from the machinery around making music that’s your profession. In a press release, Mesirow further explained the hiatus:

Going back to making songs was difficult for me after the last album. When I made my first album, I didn’t have the usual routine of trial and error, it was immediate. The second record was made after a few years of touring, which was an unstable life, and I still hadn’t established a relationship to do things regularly. After its release, I didn’t have a center where I could recompose myself. The thing that finally brought me back to music as a positive experience was that I started taking lessons to learn Balkan singing. I want to try to learn all this vocal gymnastic stuff I’ve been listening to on Bulgarian state television choir records. I started writing songs and working on an album.
