Sony Pictures released the Grand Touring movie video for the upcoming biographical game play, starring Orlando Bloom, David Harbour, and Archie Madekwe. The film is scheduled to make its debut in theaters on August 11.
The video features commentary from the main cast and professional racing driver Jann Mardenborough as they discuss the inspiring true story of a teenager who transformed himself into an elite racer through his skills in play the video. It also features behind-the-scenes footage of Mardenborough acting as the film’s official stunt driver.

Who Was Involved in the Gran Turismo Movie?
Gran Turismo is directed by Neill Blomkamp from a screenplay written by co-executive producers Jason Hall and Zach Baylin. It stars David Harbour, Archie Madekwe, Orlando Bloom, Darren Barnet, Djimon Hounsou, Geri Halliwell-Horner, Daniel Puig, Josha Stradowski, and German actor Thomas Kretschmann.
“Based on the true story of Jann Mardenborough, the film is the ultimate dream come true story of a teenage Gran Turismo player whose gaming skills win a series of Nissan competitions to become a actual professional racecar driver,” reads the synopsis.
The film is produced by Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan, Doug Belgrad, and Dana Brunetti, with game creator Kazunori Yamauchi executive producing. Originally released in 1997, the Gran Turismo franchise has become one of the most popular racing video game properties ever, known for its meticulous level of detail and realism.
