Starz fired the official Heels Season 2 photos ahead of the return of his wrestling drama, starring Arrow’s Stephen Amell and Vikings Alexander Ludwig. The photos give fans a glimpse of what to expect in the new season as Amell’s Jack and Ludwig’s Ace continue their rivalry. The next installment is set to air on July 28, more than a year since the end of its 8-episode first season.
What to Expect in Heels Season 2?
“The second season begins after a spectacular performance at the South Georgia State Fair, and the popularity of the Duffy Wrestling League suddenly increases,” reads the logline. Hoping to seize the opportunity, Jack and his partners prepare for a possible business deal with a new streaming service that could propel them onto a national stage. But the past and the Its tragedy threatens to upset everything when Ace leaves Duffy and the Dome in his rearview, while rival promotion Florida Wrestling Dystopia’s vengeful frontman Gully comes calling.
Heels is written and created by Michael Waldron, with Mike O’Malley serving as showrunner. The series tells the story of boys and girls chasing their dreams in the world of small-town pro wrestling,” reads the synopsis. “Set in a close-knit community in Georgia, it follows a family-owned wrestling promotion as two brothers and rivals battle over their late father’s legacy.
It stars Stephen Amell, Alexander Ludwig, Alison Luff, Mary McCormack, Kelli Berglund, Allen Maldonado, two-time Super Bowl champion James Harrison, AEW star CM Punk, and Chris Bauer.
