Originally, it was set to be a 10-episode arc, although due to some script rewrites it was cut to only eight. While Warner Bros. has become notorious for its cost-cutting measures lately, said to be a creative decision due to the story’s structure. Not much is known about the upcoming season, although that has already been said that more dragons will be featured.
Based on George RR Martin’s Fire and Blood, House of the Dragon tells the story of the rise and fall of the Targaryens, the only family of dragonlords to survive the Fall of Valyria. It takes place 200 years before the events of the award-winning series adaptation Game of Throneswhich aired its last episode in 2019.
