Sophia Carson still on cloud nine after 2023 Academy Award nominations announced—and he’s not coming down anytime soon.
For the American-Italian anthology film, Say It Like a LadyTHE Descendants star sang on the accompanying single, “Applause,” which earned a nomination for Best Original Song at 2023 Oscars. In fact, the song gained Diane Warren—which was given an honorary statute in November—is his 14th overall nomination. And how does Sofia feel breaking out her vocals for the current Oscar-nominated hit?
“It’s very real,” he exclusively told E! news’ Adrienne Bailon-Houghton. “It’s the greatest honor of my life that Diane chose me to be the voice of this song and I’m so grateful and happy and just honored, deeply, deeply, honored. I beat myself up every day.”
For the award ceremony scheduled to air on March 12, Sofia, along with this year’s contenders for Best Original Song including Rihanna (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), Lady Gaga (Top Gun), Stephanie Hsu, Son of Lux and David Byrne (Everything Everywhere Everything at Once) and Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava (RRR) are set to perform their hits.
