How That ’90s Show Handled Danny Masterson’s Loss


No more, and sure forgotten.

That ’90s Showthe new Netflix That ’70s Show series, bringing back a bunch of familiar faces to Point Place—with the original stars Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Topher Grace, Laura Prepon and Wilmer Valderrama all reprise their roles in cameo appearances—but one actor is notably absent: Danny Masterson.

Masterson played Steven Hyde, the best friend of Eric Forman (Grace), in all eight episodes of That ’70s Showbut lately he has been occupied at court.

In June 2020, the actor was arrested and charged with raping three women in separate incidents that occurred between 2001 and 2003. Masterson has denied all charges and pleaded not guilty.

In November 2022, the case was declared a mistrial after the jury could not make a unanimous decision. A retrial is scheduled for March.

After the mistrial, E! The news reached Masterson’s lawyer Philip Cohen for comment, but did not hear back.

So, how That ’90s Show solve the loss of his character? Well, simply put, no.

Steven (better known as Hyde) was not even mentioned by name and no information was given about his whereabouts.
