In fact, players now have to sit through a montage similar to Team GO Rocket’s battle rewards, which increases the overall waiting time.

Here is a step-by-step guide on how perform the Fast Catch Trick.

  • Step 1: This can be tricky while you’re on the “Catching Pokémon” screen.
  • Step 2: It takes two hands to do. Use Berry (or not, it’s completely optional) and slide your right thumb near the Pokeball icon on the right.
  • Step 3: Do not open the Pokéball icon but slide it slightly to the left.
  • Step 4: Using your left hand, throw the Pokéball at the Pokémon.
  • Step 5: When you get the Pokéball, release the Pokeball icon in the lower right, and players should see the “Run” icon in the upper left.
  • Step 6: Pick that and get away.
  • Step 7: Balika.

Niantic also increases the waiting time if players run with a catch or don’t capture a Pokémon. Previously, using the above method would take about 5 seconds to complete Quick Catch. However, after a recent update, it takes 9 seconds to complete a Quick Catch. It is important to mention that there is no guarantee the Pokémon will be captured, but using Razz Berry or Great/Ultra Ball can make it easier. It may take a little practice to do this, but you can check your inventory to see if you’ve got the Pokémon. Repeat this process, and you will continue to skip the capture animation. This saves time and gains tons of player experience.
