Hulu Schedule May 15-21: New TV and Movies

the Hulu schedule for May 15-21 features an intriguing remake of a 1992 film among other new additions coming to the streaming service this week.

On Friday, May 19, Hulu will add White Men Can’t Jump in his streanubg library. The 2023 remake is directed by Calmatic, who rose to fame when he directed the hit 2019 music video “Old Town Road” for Lil Nas X. Kenya Barris and Doug Hall wrote the script for the film, with Barris and his Khalabo Ink Society banner production. The list of executive producers includes Blake Griffin, Ryan Kalil, and Noah Weinstein.

Along with rapper Jack Harlow, the movie stars Sinqua Walls, Teyana Taylor, Laura Harrier, and Vince Staples. It may also be one of the last movies he stars in Lance Reddick after the death of the actor.

“White Men Can’t Jump is a modern retelling of the iconic 1992 film that celebrates the streetball hustling culture of Los Angeles,” says the synopsis. “Sinqua Walls stars as Kamal, a once-promising player whose sporting future is derailed, and multi-platinum rap superstar Jack Harlow makes his film debut as Jeremy, a former sports star whose injuries derailed his own career. Juggling strained relationships, financial pressures and serious internal struggles, the two ballers—opponents seemingly far apart— found they had more in common than they thought possible.”
