A new one I love Lucy The deepfake put Nicole Kidman in Lucille Ball’s shoes and proved to be more realistic than Being Ricardo. Even before it premiered in theaters and on Amazon in December, Being Ricardo is one of the busiest movies of 2021 thanks to the power of the star and its subject matter. Written and directed by Aaron Sorkin, the film follows a week -long production of the landmark sitcom I love Lucy as its stars, couple Lucille Ball (Kidman) and Desi Arnaz (Javier Bardem), struggle with personal and professional issues. Being Ricardo they also star JK Simmons and Nina Arianda as I love LucyThe other main stars, are William Frawley and Vivian Vance.


Although Being Ricardo there was a lot going on for it before its release, the film didn’t have any controversy. Kidman’s casting generated a lot of debate even before the premiere, with some viewers doubting whether he was watching the part or being able to handle some of Ball’s comedy comedy. In addition, the hiring Bardem to play a Cuban-American man when he himself was Spanish led to further criticism. Being Ricardo has since received mixed reviews and several award nominations for its stars.

No matter how someone feels about Kidman’s depiction of the Ball, there’s little question that deep fake technology could be a great way to make any person fit in someone else’s shoes. Whatever its value, Kidman actually did a good job of wearing Ball’s shoes at the time. Being Ricardo‘entertainment is the key I love Lucy moments. The biggest issue, for some, has been what she looks like. The release of Being Ricardo trailer months later sparked jokes and criticism of Kidman’s appearance. Obviously, deepfake technology does most of the work in the video above, but one has to think about how Being Ricardo It would have come out if Kidman’s makeup didn’t give the actress a plasticky look.

Aside from the criticisms, Kidman put on a very good performance on Being Ricardo. The pressure of playing Lucille Ball very heavy on Kidman and was almost carried away by his pull, but it was nice to see that he endured. Being Ricardo it would look very different without him, and even if there are some Ball enthusiasts who have some doubts about how Kidman did, he certainly gave it his all. No need for deepfake technology.
