Dim the lights, we have something new American Idol winner.
After the three-hour season finale on May 21, host Ryan Seacrest Office has partnered Now it’s Tongi as the champion of the competition series, defeated Megan Danielleas well as Colin Stoughwho was eliminated earlier in the evening.
(Megan Danielle, Colin and Iam were previously announced as the final three contestants during the May 14 episode of “Disney Night.”)
Before the new winner was crowned, Megan, Colin and Iam all took to the stage one last time to perform.
The season finale also included star-studded performances from the judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richiewith the former American Idol star Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard.
Ellie Goulding, James Blunt, Jazmine Sullivan, Jelly roll, By Kevin Cronin from REO Speedwagon, Kylie Minogue, Lainey Wilson, Lauren Daigle, Pitbull and TLC also took the stage to perform during the finale, with the former Idol JUDGES Keith Urbanwho also managed the three finalists.
