A man in Indianapolis tried to jump the line at a Doja Cat concert Saturday, Jan. 8, by telling those around him that he had a bomb in his backpack, police said.
Doja Cat performs at the AT&T Playoff Live concert in downtown Indianapolis in conjunction with the College Football Playoff National Championship scheduled for Monday. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Officer William Young told IndyStar that the man made the threat about 5 p.m., when concert attendees began entering the Monument Circle concert. Police detained the crowd for about 20 minutes and searched the man, who, in fact, had no bomb. He remains in custody while the police investigation continues.
“A fan wants to get ahead of the line so he uses bad judgment and tells those around him in the line that he has a bomb in his backpack,” Deputy Chief Joshua Barker told IndyStar. “Someone did the right thing and alerted the IMPD. The backpack is clean.”
Doja Cat showcases the likes of Austin City Limits and N Vegas Festival Day since the release of his pop breakthrough, Her planet, in June. consequences named Her planet one of the best albums of 2021 – see where it ranks HERE.
