Influencer Katie Sorensen Arrested After False Kidnap Reporting

influences Katie Sorensen faces two misdemeanor charges after he accused a couple of trying to kidnap his children.

A spokesman for the Sonoma District Attorney’s office told E! The news was that the mother of two, née Kathleen Sorenson, was charged on Thursday, April 29 with two misdemeanors giving false information to police.

Both charges stem from Sorenson’s claim that Sadie Vega-Martinez and Eddie Martinez Attempts were made to kidnap her two children at a Michaels craft store in Petaluma, Calif. on Dec. 7, 2020.

The influencer documented the alleged kidnapping on Instagram account @motherhoodessentials, claiming two undeleted videos of the Latino couple following her and her children to the store. In addition, she said the two described her children to the other on the phone and tried to get her stroller.

Shortly after Sorensen posted the viral videos on Dec. 13, Petaluma police ended their investigation into his claims. At the time, they told a press release, “To date, no evidence has been conducted in the investigation or witnesses corroborating the account provided by the reporting party. The accumulated evidence serves to support the account provided by the couple from the store.”
