Iris DeMent Announces New Album Workin’ on a World, Shares Song: Listen

Iris Dement there is a new album coming soon. The singer-songwriter has announced that her next LP is titled Working in a Worldand it will be released on February 24. The album includes “Go Singing in Texas,” a long song about gun control that DeMent first released in 2020. Find it and the title track on Working in a World down.

According to a press release, Working in a World has been in development for six years. DeMent worked with co-producers Richard Bennett, Jim Rooney, and Pieta Brown, who completed the project in Nashville last year. This is his seventh album and his first in nearly a decade, following 2015 The Trackless Woods.

To celebrate the release of his new album, DeMent will embark on a short tour in the winter and spring. The journey consists of seven dates in total, starting with a concert in Notre Dame, Indiana, on February 17 and ending in Stoughton, Wisconsin, on May 13. Find the full list of tour dates below.
