After finding success in his first major TV project as a lead, Reacher Star Alan Ritchson has officially found his next big project. The deadline brings word that Ritchson was tapped to join Universal Pictures’ Vin Diesel Haste X film. His casting comes after he recently signed a deal on three films on Amazon.
Haste X now directed by Transporter director Louis Leterrier, who took over the role from Justin Lin after Lin abruptly left the project due to creative differences. The film was written by Lin and Dan Mazeau, who still included Lin as producer.
Even if the official cast hasn’t been announced yet, there’s a good chance the franchise’s alums Vin Diesel, Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Sung Kang will return to their roles.
The tenth installment will feature the additions of new franchisees Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Daniela Melchior (The Suicide Squad), and Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), with Momoa expected to portray the opponent.
Based on characters created by Gary Scott Thompson, the latest installment takes the family around the world from London to Tokyo, from Central America to Edinburgh, and from a secret bunker in Azerbaijan to many road to Tbilisi. Along the way, old friends will be resurrected, old enemies will return, history will be rewritten, and the true meaning of the family will be tested like never before.
The franchise began in 2001 with the release of Fast and Angry, followed by numerous sequels, spin-offs, video games, and sales. The cinematic franchise currently has a combined worldwide gross of over $ 6 billion.
