Jacques Greene Announces New EP, Shares New Song: Listen

Jacques Greene announces a new EP. Fantasy is digital January 28 through LuckyMe. Earlier today (January 123, Greene shared the lead single on the record “Taurus.” Check it out below, and scroll down for EP art and tracklist.

“I think there’s a really soothing, meditative core to it,” Greene said of his new single in press materials. “And the almost relentless repetitive nature of aggressive breaks is meant to tip the whole way to mediation. There’s angst — but there’s an attempt to move it.” Greene continues:

Things you’ll hear when you’re alone. Walking through Mount Royal or other wooded areas you may notice the destruction of the branch. As much as I appreciate my alone time and the subtle things you can get around and within yourself in those moments, a certain loneliness and anxiety will overwhelm the silence at some point. The past couple of years have created ample opportunity for that anxiety and loneliness to stretch her legs and make herself comfortable. This record was born out of weeks ready to be a kind of peace and inspiration around me. A big part of that came from working with Leanne Macomber on some vocals. Through a desire to make new connections and throw more people into the work. We made different sketches of the song that I usually reworked on the final recordings here. We talked a lot about where our heads were, some key phrases, causes and emotions. Joel Ford, with whom I worked on the Dawn Chorus, mixed up the record and helped me fight some cats to get it to the finish line. No rest at home in Canada, feeling the turmoil of all my friends and loved ones I kept in contact with as often as possible, trying to do something that made the quiet more peaceful.
