James Gunn on Ship of the Guardians, Doom Patrol, and The Dark Knight Returns


In several posts and replies on Twitter and Mastodon, DC Studios Co-CEO James Gunn revealed many details about Marvel, DC, and the comics he reads.

When asked if he has seen and liked HBO Max’s Doom Patrol consecutively, replied Gunn with a quick “Yes.” Similarly, Gunn confirmed that he had read Frank Miller’s seminal Batman story The Dark Knight is back.

The DC Studios Co-CEO then paid tribute to acclaimed comic book writer Tom King. When a fan asked if he enjoyed King’s Supergirl: Girl of Tomorrow, he declared He enjoyed it “So, so, so much,” and felt that Tom King was “the greatest.”

The next DCU release is Shazam! Wrath of the Godswhich will be released on March 17, 2023. It will be followed by The Flash, starring the troubled Ezra Miller, Blue beetleand Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
