Jay Leno came out of a tragedy with a change.
The comedian, who got burns on his face, arms and hands in a gasoline fire back in November, made a post-hospitalization appearance in the March 1 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Showwhere he shows how good his face is.
“This is a brand new face,” Jay declared to the host Kelly Clarkson. “It is. It’s unbelievable.”
Reflecting on the terrifying incident, which happened while Jay was working on one of his collectible cars, the comedian told the story with some fictional details thrown in.
“I was working on a car and I got a face full of gasoline and it burned,” he explained, before joking, “I was eating a Flamin’ Hot Dorito and when I bit into it, my face burned. .”
On a more serious note, Jay noted that the “pretty bad” accident gave him third-degree burns. Now that the skin is healed, Jay mocks the unusual transformation, while pointing to his chin, “You’d think there was a zipper in here or something but there isn’t.”
