The Week recruiting a comedy legend for his upcoming album.
Even if it’s less than a week into 2022, it’s safe to say that The Weeknd’s hotly anticipated fifth album, Dawn FM, was one of the biggest releases of the year. If there isn’t enough reason to get excited for the next chapter from the contemporary music superstar, a new trailer reveals Jim Carrey is featured on the album.
A one -minute trailer opens with rumbling synths before Carrey cuts to the slow -spoken but poor narration: “You’re listening to 103.5 Dawn FM now. You’ve been in the dark for a long time. It’s time. to walk in the light and accept your destiny with open arms. “
The following is an eight-second preview of a new song that offers a brief look at Dawn FM, by The Weeknd said to include EDM in late 2021. That’s not surprising given his quickness to work with the genre’s most renowned producers, such as Daft Punk, Gesaffelstein, Reveal, Calvin Harris, Kavinsky, and most recently. Swedish House Mafia.
The ambient, electronic beat shown in the clip has everything to do with another classic from The Weeknd. Listen below.
In response to the trailer, Carrey shared his excitement Dawn FM. “I listened to Dawn FM with my best friend Abel @theweeknd last night,” the iconic wrote The Truman Show actor. “It was deep and elegant and it made me dance around the room. I was happy to have a part in his symphony.”
Carrey added, Dawn FM will also feature performances from Quincy Jones, Lil Wayne, Oneohtrix Point Never, and Tyler, The Creator.
